Start of #YLOOC buffer: Sat Sep 17 13:02:10 2005 [20:17] * Now talking in #YLOOC [22:57] * `Doc is now known as `Doc|afk [23:22] * Diceaholic has joined #YLOOC [06:45] * Pair has joined #YLOOC [06:45] hey doc [06:45] * Pair is now known as Pair|afk [07:22] * `Doc|afk is now known as `Doc [07:24] <`Doc> 'morning [07:32] * GilAway has joined #YLOOC [07:32] Y'know, under any alternate circumstances I'd consider this a good time to be going to sleep. [07:33] <`Doc> heh [07:34] I'm a night person. Not a morning person. [07:35] <`Doc> I'd be a night person if I didn't have a morning person job. :\ [07:36] I don't have one of those anymore! =D [07:36] * GilAway is now known as Gil [07:36] Well, I hope anyways. [07:38] I'm glad for the now-available time to work on my campaign, in any case. [07:38] I'm currently working on my "arcane undead subtype" race. [07:39] I figured out what their background will be. Extreme isolationists who were quite happy in not dealing with the rest of the world right up until another race happened to end it. [07:40] <`Doc> Heh. [07:41] At which point they pretty much used arcane forces to tranform themselves into force-energy liches instead of negative or positive energy undead. [07:42] Since force energy is neutral. [07:44] They still have a "shielded core" of positive energy where their consciousness resides, but the rest of their bodies are effectively an animated object. [07:46] It was the only way to prevent the death of their entire civilization, considering the jackasses who tore a rift to the Negative Energy Plane. [07:47] <`Doc> Doesn't that make them constructs? :p [07:47] It makes them living constructs. [07:48] <`Doc> But the Warforged already come with a 'living construct' template, so why do you need another one? [07:48] Only living constructs that are vulnerable to undead-targetting spells that don't rely on positive energy. [07:48] The template is different. [07:49] Similar, but different. [07:49] You can't heal an Eletum with repair spells, for one. [07:50] <`Doc> Do heal spells still hurt them? [07:50] No, but they don't heal them either. [07:51] <`Doc> Be wary of the unhealable. [07:51] Oh, I know this. I gave them an alternate effect to compensate. [07:53] Every hour, they automatically transfer one HP of lethal damage to subdual damage. That then heals normally. [07:53] <`Doc> So they regen 1hp/hour. [07:54] This can be sped up by focusing on their bodies (Concentration check, DC high, HP transfer everything over DC, takes about 10 minutes). [07:55] The important part is that they do not get healed in battle. [07:55] Be here in 10 minutes guys =) [07:55] <`Doc> You could just do 1hp/hour/level. [07:55] <`Doc> kay [07:56] <`Doc> Or have them meditate instead of resting, and at the end, make a concentration check, with the result equal to the number of HP they get back. [07:56] I considered it, but then you get healing of 5HP/hour under any conditions at 5th level. And that means you're restored to full health automatically every day. [07:57] The meditation is a good idea, though. That was sorta what I was going for. [07:57] Only your way phrases it better. [07:57] <`Doc> Four hours meditation, which can be repeated up to 4 times per day. [07:57] <`Doc> No, 3 times per day. [07:57] 4 would be a bit much. [07:57] * Taylen has joined #ylooc [07:57] <`Doc> hey taylen [07:58] wish I wasn't awake yet, hey Doc [07:58] Oh, and they effectively have regeneration for that HP. They don't regenerate lost limbs, but they can reattach them. [07:58] <`Doc> I'm used to it, due to 6AM rise time for my job. Though yeah, if not for Pved I'd have scheduled for noon. [07:59] <`Doc> Gil: How about once per day per 4 levels? [07:59] it's more that I didn't get to bed till after 3am [07:59] <`Doc> oh [08:00] <`Doc> So the stuff you did after the game was cancelled took a while? [08:00] heh yeah [08:00] Hm, that'd be good. [08:00] Or maybe give a feat that allows more. [08:00] ...Nah. [08:00] <`Doc> Gil: Obviously that's round up, so 1-4 = once, 5-8 = twice, etc. [08:01] Every 4 levels. [08:02] <`Doc> For level 1s, it won't even matter, because they'd get full HP almost every time. By level 4, it'd matter quite a bit. Then level 5s get another opportunity. Seems to work, though it's not perfect. [08:03] * Gil nods. [08:03] <`Doc> Oh, today's intro will be in stages, depending on how far into the city the group goes before they do anything significant. I don't have NPCs prepared, but should be able to wing whatever you need. [08:03] I just hope Pved shows up. [08:03] Normally he's on now if he's going to be. [08:04] <`Doc> He even said this was a better time for him :\ [08:05] That's the only reason I'm UP at this ungodly hour. [08:07] <`Doc> If he's not on by an hour into game time, he loses the privilege of influencing game times. [08:07] <`Doc> I dunno where Reyolen is though, thought he'd make it. He'll probably show up at 8AM central time and not know he screwed up. [08:08] <`Doc> When Ukko gets back, we start. [08:08] Heh. [08:09] Works for me. Though I'm glad we're not running on Fridays anymore, just in case I am still working next week. It was always a crazy rush trying to get home. [08:12] <`Doc> Anyway, I expect to catch up on things in general during the time off that I scheduled for the first full week of October. [08:14] <`Doc> Hmm. Ukko's 10 minutes are running a bit long. [08:15] * Gil nods. [08:15] First week of October is the first full week of October. [08:15] ok! here [08:15] * Pair|afk is now known as Pair [08:15] Sorry, crazyness at home [08:16] <`Doc> no worries [08:16] Here, ready and willing [08:16] and pantless [08:16] <`Doc> uhm... [08:16] Good to know [08:16] * Taylen is now known as Marigold [08:16] Heh. [08:17] I have been lacking lot of sleep this week, but I just drinked a Sobe (suger free) so I should be good for a moment [08:18] Rey just signed on. [08:18] <`Doc> awesoem [08:19] hope Pve will spawn [08:19] <`Doc> crud. he's being stopped by a firewall [08:20] thisk, if this keep up, I'll have to make my own IRC server... if I knew how =P [08:22] has anyone considered the likelyhood of getting puppy onto a ship even if we can convince a ship to allow puppy [08:22] I know someone that can convince without a problem, his name is mister Gold [08:24] heh [08:24] on a othere note, I just finished reading book #3 of the wheel of time [08:24] Puppy shouldn't be too bothered by a ship. It's unusual, but shouldn't be too frightening. I just wouldn't bring her out on deck. [08:28] * Marigold2 has joined #ylooc [08:28] * Agaven has joined #YLOOC [08:29] Yay! [08:29] Hi guys [08:29] <`Doc> bout time you showed up :p [08:29] Bah, it wasn't letting me on :P [08:29] I had to SAY it to make him spawn [08:29] what I miss? [08:30] Wild Orgys and Golden Statues of Naked Gil [08:30] and soemthing about a burning bush [08:30] Ah, bible stories. [08:31] Bible? we where just trying to make Mari cry [08:31] * Marigold has quit IRC (Ping timeout) [08:31] * Marigold2 weeps openly [08:31] =P [08:31] * Marigold2 is now known as Marigold [08:32] <`Doc> Aga: Approaching the city by land, it appears at first to be no more than a small farming town. As the group begins to pass through the city, it becomes apparent that many of Malthazar's outlying districts have been developed to resemble independent small towns, though each lies within moments' walking distance of its neighboring districts. [08:32] <`Doc> Aga: Mirra looks around at the neat little rows of houses. She seems fairly comfortable. The mercenaries look like they've been here before. "So, where do you want to go first, ladies and gentlegnome?" Kerjak asks with a bit of showmanship in his tone. [08:32] <`Doc> Aga: "Alrighty, to the ports then," Kerjak leads the way, letting Cedric take a break from the task. Cedric mingles into the group. "Actually, most of the eastern cities are like this. They started out small, and spread out a patch at a time." [08:33] <`Doc> Aga: Deep in the city's heart, on the land that was once the original settlement, the group finds the city's main docks district. Built to house and accommodate large trading ships, the docks themselves are always well maintained, though not necessarily well policed. All manner of folk, both reputable and otherwise, may be found working in or around the various warehouses of the district. [08:33] <`Doc> That covers my part so far. [08:33] Mm, okies. [08:34] <`Doc> Jeez, mari, I'm busy :p [08:35] wis still holds Doc? [08:37] <`Doc> yes [08:38] I was born to deal with sailors! ARgggMaity! [08:38] <`Doc> hehehe [08:39] and it's part of my Backgrond too! [08:40] taking Mari into a city is just this || shy of the equivilent of taking a wild stray cat into a room full of noisy people [08:41] ohho, she's gona do soemthing funny ^_^ [08:42] I just got a shiver from Agavens words! [08:44] "Grow a few inch where it conts" *giggle* [08:51] <`Doc> When Agaven's done, we'll move onto Pair. [08:51] np, I figuer that you where bit bessy =) [08:52] I say it's Bob [08:52] Mari, dont you get a + to your wis? [08:52] me too but mari is freaked at the moment, she won't think of that [08:52] Nope, all I do I do through force of personality ;) [08:53] It makes situations like this interesting [09:01] <`Doc> Hey, we're not repeating Katrinity's first session with Niklas :p [09:02] hmmm? [09:03] ewwww [09:04] even more disturbing [09:05] <`Doc> oops. sorry [09:05] <`Doc> Wanna run with it, or should I retract? [09:06] <`Doc> Don't worry about the timing, we'll just say you wandered off as of whenever you decide. [09:08] is agaven trying to get the poor vendor neutered the hard way [09:10] Agaven is going to make him rethink his worthless life. :D [09:10] yes, yes she is [09:10] pair sounds vaguely jamacan now [09:11] anyhow, mari already got a tail =P [09:11] Pair can talk sailor like, she has experiance with them [09:12] Always complement there ship first [09:12] she still sounds vaguely jamacan [09:12] <`Doc> sorry about the delay, flatmate just came out [09:12] flatmate? [09:12] roommate [09:13] a flat is an apartment [09:13] out the closet? [09:13] Heh. [09:13] bad humor sorry =P [09:14] <`Doc> shit, now I have a whole page to catch up :( [09:14] lol, good reading =) [09:15] I think I'm gona do a consert later in the public place, and try a new song... play it like "White wedding" style! [09:15] Heh. [09:16] Well, when Gil was talking about a concert he was referring more to an orchestra. [09:16] But that works too. [09:16] Thisk, I'll use all my magic into my cantrip and make it sond louder! [09:17] maybe pair needs one them "one man Orchestra" instrument thing ^_^ [09:17] but can you make it sound like multiple instruments [09:18] lol, little GREEN arm ... we so need to find a disguise for ...her... OMG Pair just got a Idea!!! [09:19] I suggest makeup [09:19] better [09:19] saving the suprice [09:20] Regardless of what else you try I still suggest makeup to disguise her skin color [09:20] I suggest sweeping social reordering! [09:20] nope, still think my idea is better ^_^ [09:21] more layers of disguise means less chance for discovery [09:21] Well, either that or turning everyone green. [09:21] ... would that be a scary wish to ask a genie? =P [09:22] No a scary wish would be "I wish everything on this sheet of paper were true." [09:23] I can see her now, older, a adventuer, as the Genie comes up to her... "I shall reward you for granting me freedom, little one, name one wish and it will be yours!" "Ok, I wish everyone looked like me!" [09:23] "Oh genie of the moonshine jug, I wish for sweeping social reforms." [09:25] <`Doc> There's an important problem with that wish, gil. [09:26] Eh. I was just quoting from the "300 things I'm not allowed to do in RPGs" list. [09:27] I want to see a genie in a moonshine jug! [09:29] Heh. [09:29] I wana see a wishing Dragon from Dragonlance: everytime you make a wish from him (it has to be a good wish) he will always make it better that you expected, with no catch20 [09:29] Well, you can! All you have to do is drink the moonshine, and you'll see all sorts of things. [09:31] <`Doc> I know, Gil. But that one's a catch, because the contents of the paper can be changed to the party's ill fortune. [09:32] Ah. [09:32] Oh better! Pair gona Sing "I'm just a girl" by no Douth!!! [09:32] errr No doubt [09:33] Sing "Yes we have no bananas" [09:33] or "I have a lovely bunch of coconuts" [09:34] http://www.tallyhall.com/bman_high.htm [09:34] Or... [09:34] oh yeah "because I got high" [09:35] a cat that stole the last chicken wing usually runs headlong through the crowd, turns and crouches over it growling [09:36] Heh. [09:36] not my cat =P [09:37] My cat would simply lay down on the plate and eat it. [09:37] well I had alot of cats, so if mine got into human food they had to defend it [09:39] I think my hawker realises he's met his match. :( [09:39] <`Doc> grr. you people keep getting ahead of me, and I miss stuff. :p [09:40] I'm typing on caffeine! [09:41] I always get ahead of you when I'm actually paying attention [09:42] I'm typing on caffeine, paullinia cupana, vitamine c, taurine, inositol, and some more caffeine! [09:46] Marigold has alot in common with wild animals, chances are Gil will never convince mari cities are good, though you might convince her to spend and evening in one for a concert or something with alot of coaxing [09:49] Gil is one of those people who would spend the entire day in a bathrobe if he could. He's very "classy comfort" focused. [09:50] Mari is more the laying naked on a bed of moss by a stream sunning herself all day for relaxing [09:51] Heh. [09:52] I picture Gil as being sort of Sherlock Holmes. Wide range of very specific knowledge, most of which is useless for circumstances outside a very set operating area. [09:52] feral fey druid ;) [09:53] Heh. [09:53] You're winning him over. =P [09:54] He already liked travelling, so wilderness isn't an issue for him. It's more a matter of being able to bring along his pipe, and having a comfortable place to sit. [09:56] He's a creature of small comforts... and possibly Leomund's Tiny Hut. [09:57] Wait till it rains and you see mari run out to dance in it, which hasn't happened so far when we had free roleplay [10:04] I really don't see that requiring a bluff check, and prestidigitation lasts an hour. [10:04] it's like for pair, to make it belivable [10:05] One hour for a single effect is the problem. [10:05] You made multiple effects. [10:05] One of which nearly simulates Ghost Sound. [10:09] <`Doc> Pair, you can't whisper spells. If it's not loud enough for proper enunciation, it won't work. [10:10] ok ok [10:10] I'll say a poem then! [10:10] awww [10:10] <`Doc> Heh. A quick one-line rhyme would work fine :p [10:10] You better not get us in trouble [10:11] how's that? [10:11] You made our time here far more interesting than it should have been. And by interesting, I mean "likely to get us killed." [10:11] me? trouble? naaaaaaaaaaaan NEVER would I DO THAT! [10:11] That's so my job. [10:12] well, you STARTED it =P [10:12] Exactly! [10:12] <`Doc> remember, still holding [10:12] Marigold will kill you both if you get her locked up in a city [10:13] Gil will let her, all things considered. [10:13] His interests lie FAR from here. [10:14] Especially since Gil sympathises much more with the hawker than the necromancer. [10:15] <`Doc> I'm getting suddenly and inexplicably frustrated with my hold message being ignored. [10:15] We're so dead. :( [10:15] Sorry doc, I dont usaly do that [10:15] bah! worst will be us paying somesort of ticket =P [10:17] Eh. He doesn't like charlatans, but he thinks it's madness to try and stop or mess with them. They've got better connections than most, for obvious reasons. [10:20] OMG! not ONE with the same story! [10:25] If we get arrested, Gil will be pissed. [10:26] we wont, I dont like it, but I can charm our way out =P [10:30] <`Doc> The problem is that basically everyone has ignored the HOLD at some point this game. [10:30] we are sorry =( [10:30] <`Doc> When everyone ignores it, it loses meaning, and I need to come up with a four-line STOP TALKING announcement. [10:31] <`Doc> Reminder: Pair walked up next to Agaven, and cast a spell on the merchant. In public. [10:31] I know ... [10:31] Indeed. [10:32] And I should take more levels in Diplomacy. [10:32] Or rather, levels in Diplomacy. [10:32] <`Doc> This after Agaven cast a spell that made the merchant's vials glow (and you weren't specific, so you made them all glow). [10:32] I have lots of diplomacy, but everyone else jumps in and explains things away so i rarely bother ;) [10:33] Agaven has Diplomacy now, but the problem is, she's scary. [10:33] marigold is most times anyway kinda sweet and charming ;) [10:34] Gil's all business. Unfortunately, that only works in business. [10:35] Damnit! [10:35] :( [10:35] Sorry Doc [10:36] The trouble isn't seeing the Inc Data message...it's that it needs reinforcing maybe [10:38] Uh oh [10:38] berk, boff roll >.< [10:38] Lord... [10:38] Pair is a gipsy ... no one takes her freedom [10:38] wait do we have to keep them from being arrested permanantly? [10:38] Must I continually remind people of the ARMED CITY GUARD. [10:39] sorry guy's, but like hell Pair gona let sleasy morron guards have there way [10:40] < for the love of... Pve you did it again >.< [10:41] I know.. :( [10:41] I'm actuly KEEPING my self AWAY fromt he keybord not to do it [10:42] It's so hard not to.. [10:44] We're going to wind up banned from every city on the peninsula. [10:45] <`Doc> Crap, I don't have anything ready for a city combat. [10:45] I don't want a city combat. [10:45] Christ, what I wouldn't give for a Calm Emotions spell. [10:45] Best chance is have tobin knock pair out and talk our way out of this\ [10:48] %^@$^%@^!#%^!#%^ [10:48] I'll do better if I can fucking act =( [10:49] There be NO fucking fight if I can simply act [10:49] so far you are the cause of the fight [10:50] not what I wanted [10:50] <`Doc> Damn this is hard to sort out [10:50] * Gil sighs. [10:51] It's like having a tank roll into town and start an argument with the local 5-0. [10:51] They aren't going to react well. [10:51] if we had a tank this would be alot easier ;) [10:51] Effectively, we do. We're more powerful than the guard is likely to be. [10:51] I think we're the least lawful group I've ever been in. [10:52] This is the first time I've ever felt the urge to apply the alignment "Chaotic Stupid" to a group's actions. [10:52] Hmm maybe we should just charm pair, hey pair whats your will save? [10:52] Usually it's "Lawful Stupid." [10:52] if I had will, think Pair would do such things? [10:52] Hey, I neither attacked the merchant nor resisted arrest. [10:52] Okay new plan, I'm charming pair and making her surrender peacefully ;) [10:53] Pair's already our friend. [10:53] Charm != domination [10:53] Okay, better plan - we do nothing, let ourselves be taken in, and explain everything where there's not a likely chance of someone getting a sword someplace unpleasant. [10:53] if Pair can do what I have planing, hopefully, the will be No bloody fight [10:55] Charm is a tad more powerful than you make it out though, it's easy enough to get her to do something she normally wouldn't while she's charmed [10:56] as long as it doesn't harm her [10:57] is saying something faster or I need to wait my turn? [10:58] hey Doc any chance to command puppy to stay (she rolled higher init than I did heh) [11:00] * Marigold2 has joined #ylooc [11:00] damn phone, was working fine the other day now it's screwing up my connection again [11:01] Hey doc did you see my question about giving puppy an order before I got knocked offline? [11:01] * Marigold has quit IRC (Ping timeout) [11:01] * Marigold2 is now known as Marigold [11:02] <`Doc> grr, need to look up disarm but it's not in the index [11:02] look at the whip [11:02] Look up Improved Disarm. [11:02] It also indicates the regular action. [11:02] <`Doc> dieroll 1d20+1 [11:02] * Diceaholic --> "`Doc rolls 1d20+1 and gets 20." [11:03] <`Doc> <> [11:03] <`Doc> <> [11:03] dieroll 1d20 [11:03] * Diceaholic --> "Pair rolls 1d20 and gets 10." [11:04] <`Doc> The sword bats against Pair's lute with a metallic *clang*, and Pair loses her grip, as the instrument drops to the ground at Agaven's feet. [11:04] Erm... [11:04] <`Doc> <> [11:08] Well crap. How is it that we're continually winding up as the technical villains? [11:08] Leading goblins, slaying guards... [11:09] you telling me >.< [11:09] My guess is that's essentially how villains are made. [11:10] villians are made by the survivors ;) [11:10] <`Doc> Bah, work paging. This'll be a minute or a few, depending. [11:10] Especially since I'm an antihero at best. :D [11:10] we are antihero's >.< [11:11] Gil's just being dragged along. [11:11] More or less. [11:11] He will be the greatess of us all [11:12] This is, however, the most fun session in AGES. [11:12] :D [11:12] Oh, sure. So I suppose you MEANT to get the guard called on us? [11:12] Hell, let's light a few buildings and draw the army! [11:12] Hell no, Pair did that all by herself. :P [11:12] I don't know what the hell I am, but I'm not a hero or an antihero [11:13] Gil desperately needs ranks in Diplomacy. [11:13] And some skill at commanding obedience. [11:13] Because everything would work out if people would just listen to him. [11:14] too short for obidience, shoot for cooperation [11:14] I was hoping to get the merchant mobbed, but c'est la vie. [11:15] yes well, this is us... this is TOTALY like us >.< [11:15] We're the most unheroic heroes ever. [11:16] I'm not sure the paladins would even bother to detect evil us before attacking. [11:16] You went from trying to get us arrested, to getting us forably arrested, at this rate lynching won't be far off [11:16] <`Doc> okay, back, reading Mari's thing [11:17] Bravely slaying guards, leading monsters, and looting dead bodies! [11:17] dont worry, I got us a ship, if we can make it, I'm sure we can convince the captain to sail right away [11:17] And this is just the start! A whole world of villainy awaits! [11:17] :D [11:17] Well you are being led by one of the worlds most confused characters, so thats to be expected [11:17] lol [11:18] I'm not confused, I'm miss guided, there's a defrence [11:18] well that didn't work out so well [11:18] geeez, them guards realy tuff, and luck not with us >.< [11:18] We're the Guild of Ill-fortuned Intent. [11:18] :( [11:19] Highest will save of us all, and out like a light. [11:20] maybe highest. [11:20] Near it, anyway [11:20] and maybe thats how YOU willb e the onlyone left alive =P [11:20] Well, you were bound anyways. Frankly, if Pair had voluntarily failed that save we would all be much happier right now. [11:21] my poor spell DC is only 15 and you had to roll high and ruin it all Doc [11:22] I'm betting puppy will listen to me up until the point a guard actually attacks me [11:23] No one ever listens to Gil. =( [11:24] He's spent every fight the same way - "OHLORDNO!" [11:24] Pair dint watn the fight, and still dont want it [11:24] well to be fair I was expecting most of the people to fall asleep there, on both sides, but you all killed the laws of probability [11:25] Well, the people directly in danger of causing physical harm to each other aren't anymore, so that's a good thing. [11:25] 17, 20, 8,1 , 16, 15 is not a normal number spread [11:26] * Marigold has quit IRC (Connection reset by peer) [11:26] What's the bet we get burned at the stake? [11:26] * marigold2 has joined #ylooc [11:27] damm it! [11:27] ... [11:27] not a good voice >.< [11:27] They've seen enough casters to know when magic is happening. [11:27] I hate my phone lines [11:28] I find it interesting, most of the npcs are trying to protect me and Gil [11:28] Makes sense. [11:28] Damm it! HE wants a fight! [11:29] even if the speel failed, he WANTS to start the fight [11:29] well at the rate we are going I can put them all to sleep in hmm 2 more rounds ;) [11:29] indeed [11:29] "Well, they're all unconscious. ...RUN!: [11:29] " [11:29] Don't forget the doctor when you do [11:29] who' [11:30] who's will save was that? [11:30] Whoever you charmed, most likely. [11:30] actually due to the beating you gave the laws of probability and their lack of will save mods, I can probably drop them next round [11:30] Thats it! I'm tripping the morron on the floor, then I'm pissing on him! he's a Trouble maker guard [11:30] You charmed him afterall! Yay! [11:30] You already charmed him. No breaking charm. [11:30] oh thank the gods [11:31] well, I dint know, maybe his into "THat"... ok ANYHOW! [11:32] ...Crap. [11:33] NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomOooorrooooooooooooooooo oooooooon!!! [11:33] So much for preserving the charm. [11:33] idiotidiotidiotidiotidiotidiotidiotidiotidiotidiotidiot [11:33] Well he's not getting THIS combat bonus. [11:34] Lord. [11:34] Charlie's dancing the Foxtrot. [11:34] * Pair smack head on the desk a few times! for like, 30 second, I was reaflife [11:34] * marigold has joined #ylooc [11:35] there took the phone off the hook, that usually fixes the issue [11:35] anyway, we need to start tying up the impulsive people before trips to town [11:35] DAMM IT! [11:35] I almost agree, all of them except me [11:36] From now on, only Gil's entering the cities. [11:36] The rest of you? BAN. [11:36] Pfft, you're just as bad as any of us. [11:36] I don't mind if you tie me up ;) [11:36] Name one time where I've had the city guard try to KILL ME. [11:36] * marigold2 has quit IRC (Ping timeout) [11:37] Hey, I didn't do it. [11:37] well, I think today was a Group effort! yay Team! [11:37] Indeed [11:37] We fucked up TOGETHER! =D [11:37] Yay! [11:41] Lord. [11:41] Hmm? [11:41] Speaking. [11:41] I'm trying to figure out how to get Kerjak to surrender without getting stabbed by the guard, and the only way I can figure is to have someone put him to sleep. [11:42] Or put the guard to sleep. [11:42] :D [11:42] I'm working on it! [11:44] This session has been the most fun since bodynapping the shassan leader. [11:44] he is so gonna fail his will save now [11:45] and fall asleep on his feet [11:45] He'd better, or else I'm going to shoot him in the foot. [11:45] Uh oh [11:46] ... [11:46] hurting people was a really bad idea, we could talk our way out of the sleep if need be, but injuring guards is a bad thing [11:46] Okay, Marigold? Healing! [11:46] The crowd are not going to like us decapitating the police in front of everyone. [11:46] Exactly. [11:46] Crap. [11:47] I suspect we just won the villain title. [11:47] We've got to save the lives of the guards now. [11:47] From our own mercenaries. [11:48] oh give me a break [11:48] heheh [11:48] Not good luck. [11:48] He should live though now [11:48] Of course there's a bad luck component to this in the first place. [11:49] 11-3=8 he should have 8hp I think [11:49] He's down 8hp you mean [11:49] we dunno how many he had in the first place [11:49] I mean, that should stabilize him, he should be mearly unconcious now [11:50] Better than dead. They can get up from unconsciousness. [11:50] I figure he is hovering at 0hp [11:50] And when they do, they'll have a little note on their chest reading "Sorry!" [11:50] Maybe we should umm surrender peacefully now before this gets worse hmmm [11:51] We tried. Didn't work [11:51] Flee? [11:51] No it worked great until pair refused to go peacefully [11:51] That's what I mean [11:51] HEY! eat my shorts =P [11:52] dint except the Fighting liek morrons drawing there sword, I'm not even arm! geeez! males [11:53] What part of "protecting us" involves "instigating the mobilization of the city's defense"? [11:53] I dunno [11:54] wtf?!?! soem reason, most the game text has desapeared and I cant get to where the first mate and the ships name is >.< [11:54] misty emadows [11:54] meadows [11:54] or something like that [11:55] You have to wonder if the ship will even take us now... [11:55] maybe we could get onto a pirate ship, or a smuggler [11:55] if they dont know about it, with a few more gold, they will sail NOW [11:56] however now we have to abandon the loot probably [11:56] since we probably won't have time to load it all, and selling it in town appears to be out of the question [11:57] We could really do with a natural 20 perform check from Pair about now. [11:57] no, if we do it right, we can leave with it, we just have too look NOt in a hurry but yet wana leave NOW [11:57] We might could pay them in "whatever you can carry from this." [11:57] I know, gona try my luck one last time [11:58] Will save? [11:59] wis check rather [12:00] it's gonna be hard not to look in a hurry chased by the rest fo the guards, or don't you think they will react to the screaming crowd [12:00] Cedric wins the smartest Merc award btw [12:00] <`Doc> Okay, that accounts for everything that doesn't need a spot check [12:01] Agaven is fast asleep. [12:01] I cant acess the name the ship, somehow, my text wont go that far up =( [12:01] a fuck. [12:01] Agaven is unconscious. [12:02] since he is the only merc not slicing up the guards [12:02] well, maybe SOMEONEw ill give it to her [12:02] you will be lucky if someone doesn't belt you over the head with it [12:02] I'll catch it, time for Pair to fix what she broken! [12:03] I'll be damn lucky if mari doesn't get sliced up in all this [12:04] naturaly, with my luck of the dice, with the NEED of it, I am gona Roll REAaaaaly badly for my perform, you all know this, right? [12:05] since she is obviously showing she can do magic heh [12:05] Marigold's doing fine. She hasn't provoked anyone yet. [12:05] Gil's not provoked anyone either, hence why he's not being touched. [12:05] she put people to sleep, thats provoking right? [12:05] Actually, I'm not sure there's anyone left Mari hasn't casted on [12:05] <`Doc> wow, two rounds and only the mercs scored a hit :p [12:06] <`Doc> Though spells have happened. [12:06] We haven't really been trying. [12:06] we been trying to desamorce the fight! and that Merc is SOooooooooooooooooooo gona get it after this! [12:07] mari and Gil have been trying to end this semi peacfully, as has Pair recently, Cedric puppy and Mirra have been acting purely defensively and Agaven is asleep, the mercs are the only ones actually swinging so they would be the only hitters [12:07] Hahahahahah!! [22:38] * Agaven grins evilly, "Shall we make ourselves popular?" [12:08] [22:41] "It doesn't quite work like that...Agaven, where are you going?" [12:08] [22:42] "Making friends and influencing people, m'dear." [12:08] :D :D :D [12:08] I love me. [12:08] We're going to end up like the Simpsons. [12:09] remind me to spank you... heavely... tonight [12:09] agaven is spending the remainder of the trip bound and gagged [12:09] "We're going to Delaware!" [12:09] lol [12:09] *Booted out of Delaware.* [12:09] heh [12:09] ps: I should be in bed... OMG I so should be in bed >.< [12:09] Hmm if starting a brawl gets a spanking from pair...... [12:10] * Agaven grins [12:11] The lot of you will be bound and gagged in the bottom of the boat by the time we're done. [12:11] lol [12:11] <`Doc> We'll stop after this round. [12:11] I don't have any Use Rope skill, but damn it I will TAKE the 20. [12:12] Try it, I dare you. :D [12:12] well, wont it be just quiquer to tie you up? =P [12:12] you are asleep remember [12:12] he is tying you up before you wake [12:12] damn it [12:12] wah! [12:12] Pffft. [12:12] http://chaz.bdmonkeys.net/battle.php?usrname=Agaven&sex=f [12:12] I hate having to wait on cliff hanger things like that [12:12] I can last [12:13] ? [12:13] I can last... I can... no. no I'm not shaking... and yes it's normal that my hands are greena nd yellow striped! yes it is! [12:13] Is that like one of those zombie 'games'? [12:13] before I click, I mean [12:13] "Turn in in two weeks to find out if our intrepid Heros...umm *cough*....can end the battle." [12:14] No, it isn't. [12:14] And Pair WILL calm them! [12:14] It's a "battle cry" generator. [12:14] bwahahah! [12:14] so this is it? the end for today? I can ACTULY try to get 5 hours sleep befor my 12 hour shift? [12:15] I love you guy's, sorry how it turned out, but, you got to admit, you LIKED it ^_^ [12:15] as logn as we get away with it! [12:15] Oh hell yeah! :D [12:16] I loved it! [12:16] I didn't but I will run with what I'm given [12:16] I worry for the future of this group. [12:16] Guy's, thanks for moving the time game for letting my crazy ass to play =) [12:16] We should call ourselves "Inadvertent Mayhem." [12:16] Dotn worry, what wont kill us will make us Stronger! I promess [12:17] Inadvertant? [12:17] Agaven did that totally on purpose [12:17] We are Ta'verns, the wheel weaves arond us [12:17] Yeah, but the guard-slaughtering wasn't in the plan I think. [12:17] Please note: I did not attack the merchant, I co-operated with the guard, and I tried to stop the battle. [12:18] This particular outcome is not my fault. [12:19] In fact, all the mayhem was on the part of the mercenaries. [12:19] <`Doc> Pair needs bed. If necessary, I'll hold her action for next session, but the fight seems to be taking a turn for the less bloody. [12:19] Considering what mayhem means. [12:21] * Gil sighs. [12:21] We're going to jail. [12:21] we're going to hell [12:22] <`Doc> You're going to have a problem if they find Meebie in that cart. [12:22] I think I should have named Agaven "Pandora," however. [12:22] Yes. [12:22] I know. [12:22] and Pair : Insanity [12:22] If they find Meebie, Gil's going to wind up sneak-attacking a guard over the head. [12:22] Then there's the contents of Agaven's bag... [12:23] As I said, we're going to jail. [12:23] but we can't really avoid them searchingt he cart now, since pair refused to go nicely heh [12:23] And we're possibly going to be executed. [12:23] Worst. Heroes. Ever. [12:23] &*%^#&@$^&@$@$ I'm goign to bed [12:24] Hey, you're the rogue, bust us out. [12:24] I'm not a rogue. [12:24] I just have the class. [12:24] he's not a rogue [12:24] he just uses the stats =P [12:25] Going to bed, dice hates me, still fun game, night everyone [12:25] Nini Ukko [12:25] * Pair has quit IRC (Quit: Pain is a word, but in my case, it's a life.) [12:25] We're so screwed. [12:26] Use the rogue Gil! [12:26] At this point, my vote is for following them a block or so away, incapacitating them (they're obviously not of the same level as we are), then running off. [12:26] See!! I knew you could do it! [12:26] :D [12:27] You had it in you all along! [12:27] :) [12:27] Eh. [12:27] You're giving Gil sleepless nights. [12:27] He's chaotic GOOD. [12:27] Hey, Agaven's original action there was on the good side. [12:28] Try to stop the con artist... [12:28] <`Doc> And yet, you didn't think to go fetch a guard :p [12:28] but for what reasons ;) [12:28] Pfft, where's the fun in that Doc? :D [12:29] <`Doc> That of course depends on your alignment, which specifies that you aren't likely to go fetch a guard. [12:29] Impulse, of course, Mari! :D [12:29] Indeed. [12:29] There's no fun in pointless combat. And I can't think of a more pointless one we've had so far. [12:29] And provocation. Agaven reeeeally doesn't like snake-oil salesmen. [12:29] <`Doc> This was sooooo very much not what happened with the street vendor in Katrinity's first session :p [12:30] <`Doc> I gotta show her this log :D [12:30] Hey, like I said, the combat wasn't anything to do with me. :P [12:30] * Gil sighs. [12:30] I'm so gonna try my best to get Mirra's people to lock agaven up if we live to get there [12:30] 'sides, not D&D without it. Hee. [12:31] Right... [12:31] she is too much trouble [12:31] Agreed, pretty much. [12:31] At this point, Gil's thinking "how easily can I demonstrate plausible deniability?" [12:32] I think we can get me, Gil, mirra, and cedric out of trouble at least, provided they don't search the cart [12:32] if they search the cart we might be able to fast talk it anyway [12:32] If they search the cart we can make wild claims of polymorphing? [12:33] gonna be hard to get Kerjac and Tobin out of trouble regardless of what we do though [12:33] Or Pair, for that matter. [12:33] I think I can get pair out of trouble, or at least get her off with a fine [12:34] since she never physically hurt anyone [12:34] What about me? :P [12:34] You too I think [12:34] despite the trouble you cause [12:34] You're boned if they do background checks. [12:34] Or if they search you. [12:34] Search yes, background no. [12:35] my diplomacy check is +11, so there is always a chance I can sweettalk them into most anything ;) [12:35] Come to think of it, we're all boned if they do background checks. [12:35] "You have a serious history of assaulting authority figures." [12:36] Robert had the sense to get the hell away, I hope. [12:36] I really hope so. [12:36] I'm pretty clean, no one knows about us and the shassan patrols [12:36] I haven't done anything to warrant them looking into me, and I have a rational explanation for everything, so that should be fine for me. [12:36] Marigold probably as well. [12:37] Meebie's the problem there. [12:37] I can rationally explain away everything even the mercs, except meebie [12:37] I might even be able to expain that one if I try [12:37] The main thing about Agaven's background, is her conspicuous absence from Terranada. That's about it. [12:37] Well, we can explain it. [12:37] But no one will believe her. [12:38] I'm a trained diplomat, I can talk the pants off a king....wait that came out wrong [12:38] Heh. [12:38] Treaason! :D [12:38] I need to take a load of points in Diplomacy next level. [12:38] this game so needs Sexual modifiers for Diplomacy [12:39] I'm supposed to be the group spokesman, but no one listens to me. [12:39] I'm supposed to be charismatic, but people keep getting horrified. [12:39] I could have fully solved everything on this, if Pair and Agaven had just let me. [12:39] Hey, I totally let you. [12:39] dieroll 1d20+11 to play around [12:39] * Diceaholic --> "marigold rolls 1d20+11 to play around and gets 12." [12:40] ... [12:40] I think the dice are screwing with me again [12:40] <`Doc> Bleh. Oreos and peanuts do not go well together. [12:40] Yes. Yes I did. [12:40] dieroll 10#1d20 [12:40] * Diceaholic --> "marigold rolls 10#1d20 and gets 2, 8, 2, 8, 8, 5, 10, 13, 18, 15." [12:40] thats quite an interesting number [12:41] <`Doc> Looks like I'm switching dicebots again. [12:41] dieroll 10#1d20 [12:41] * Diceaholic --> "marigold rolls 10#1d20 and gets 5, 19, 17, 17, 17, 11, 14, 6, 17, 1." [12:41] dieroll 10#1d20 [12:41] * Diceaholic --> "marigold rolls 10#1d20 and gets 12, 9, 10, 7, 17, 12, 15, 7, 3, 1." [12:41] dieroll 10#1d20 [12:41] * Diceaholic --> "Agaven rolls 10#1d20 and gets 16, 10, 17, 3, 14, 10, 11, 2, 6, 1." [12:41] hmmm it does seem to be a tad screwy [12:41] And this is why my game will use DICE. [12:42] If it's biased, I can just change the way I roll for everyone. [12:42] dieroll 20#1d20 [12:42] * Diceaholic --> "Agaven rolls 20#1d20 and gets 14, 9, 10, 18, 8, 2, 12, 17, 20, 15, 5, 17, 12, 20, 1, 9, 12, 4, 1, 8." [12:43] only issue with dice really is the strain on Doc, otherwise it would work well enough, but we'd have to tell him the mods all the time and he'd have so much to roll during a battle [12:43] Dicebot isn't too bad really [12:43] <`Doc> It mainly seems to roll in patterns. [12:43] yeah just gets really really streaky [12:44] Eh. I'm just going to make a combat Excel chart. Since I intend for my game to be a message-board/IRC blend, I'll have plenty of combat prep-time. [12:44] (RPing on the board, combat on IRC) [12:44] Because combat on board systems takes too damn long. [12:45] hell I rolled 4 17's over 10 dice up there, the 3 in a row yeilded a 1 in 8000 chance [12:46] 6 over 30 dice is a 1 in 5 chance on something that should show up 1 in 20, 8 over 50 is still way higher than it should be just for an example [12:48] though it's the 2 8 2 8 8 that makes me laugh the most [12:48] I'm glad you got that out of your system, yes. [12:49] I like grumping when then numbers act funny [12:50] I never attack anyways, so it's not something that bothers me. [12:51] Passive aggressive social mayhem is one of Agaven's favourate things. [12:52] If your boredom gets you put in jail, Gil's so not helping you. [12:52] Well..soon that's the other way round. [12:52] Without the boredom and jail. [12:52] I mean [12:53] ...What? [12:53] I think I've said too much. [12:53] That's not incredulity, I just couldn't understand a word of that. [12:54] 3am. Don't mind me. [12:55] anyway I need to get going, gotta run some junk to the dump and it closes at 3pm [12:55] Seeya. [12:55] Later! [12:55] * marigold has quit IRC (Quit: later all) [12:55] <`Doc> Anyway, it's been a great game, but I've got stuff I need to do. See you all here in two weeks for the next session (hopefully we can get Reyolen working and have five). [12:56] <`Doc> I have some errands to run too, and other stuff to do today. Thanks for coming all... I mean both of you :p [12:56] <`Doc> We *almost* had five for the first time in a while. [12:57] Heh, that was a really fun game. [12:57] :) [12:57] <`Doc> Why is it you have the most fun when the party gets in trouble? :p [12:58] Sadomasochism and a love of strife, I think. [12:59] <`Doc> It was nice to have my music playing again, and not feel out of it during the game, even though interruptions meant I had to struggle to catch up at time.s [12:59] <`Doc> ... times. [13:00] * Diceaholic has quit IRC (Quit: Diceaholic) [13:01] <`Doc> Anyway, off I go. Have fun everybody, see you around chat. [13:01] Seeya. [13:01] Later Doc! [13:01] * Disconnected End of #YLOOC buffer Sat Sep 17 13:02:10 2005
